Position Summary

The IT Development Manager oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of our IT systems, ensuring they align with our mission and support our strategic goals. Your expertise in software development, AI, project management, and IT security will be instrumental in enabling our organization to operate efficiently, securely, and effectively.

Position Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee the development and implementation of new IT systems and applications to support our nonprofit's programs, operations, and growth
- Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of existing IT systems, ensuring they are up-to-date, secure, and aligned with evolving organizational needs
- Manage a team of IT professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and technical expertise
- Prioritize and manage IT & AI projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals
- Develop and implement IT & AI strategies, IT security policies and procedures to protect our data and systems
- Stay abreast of emerging IT trends and technologies to ensure our organization remains at the forefront of technological advancements
- Collaborate with internal teams across the organization to understand IT needs and ensure seamless integration of technology into our operations

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in IT development and project management, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Proven track record of success in leading and managing IT teams and projects
- Strong technical expertise in software development IT & AI, including experience with programming languages, databases, and web development frameworks
- Experience in implementing and managing IT security systems and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for our mission and values
- Proven experience in managing and overseeing the development and implementation of IT systems and applications
- Experience in overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of existing IT systems
- Experience in managing a team of IT professionals
- Experience in prioritizing and managing IT projects
- Experience in developing and implementing IT security policies and procedures
- Experience in staying abreast of emerging IT trends and technologies
- Experience in collaborating with internal teams to understand IT needs and ensure seamless integration of technology into operations

Important Notes

Reports to the Development Director
Must be:
- able to volunteer at least 8 hours per week
- passionate about our mission, values, and empowering others
- using a reliable computer and internet connection

IMPORTANT: It's vital that the nonprofit has access to all tools, resources, artifacts, etc. used in this position and stored in the nonprofit's cloud. Therefore, agreed upon web-based tools in the nonprofit's name (open source, free, commercial, etc.) must be used to ensure reuse and sustainability.
