Position Summary

The Grant Writer secures grant funding to support our organization's mission of empowering individuals and communities through education, economic opportunities, and health and fitness programs. You will be responsible for assisting the Grant Writing Manager in identifying, researching, and applying for relevant grants, developing compelling proposals,

Position Responsibilities

- Conduct research and assist in identifying potential grant opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and programs
- Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive grant writing strategies, including creating grant calendars and tracking deadlines
- Prepare and submit grant proposals under the guidance of the Grant Writing Manager, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and maximizing the chances of success
- Collaborate with program staff and the Grant Writing Manager to gather necessary information and documentation for grant applications
- Assist in managing relationships with grantors, responding to inquiries, providing updates, and maintaining positive communication
- Assist in analyzing grant funding data and identifying trends to inform future grant writing strategies
- Assist in preparing and presenting grant reports to the Board of Directors and senior management

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Grant Writing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in grant writing and proposal development, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Strong understanding of grant writing principles, funder requirements, and proposal evaluation criteria
- Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to tailor proposals to specific grantors
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated experience in conducting grant research and identifying potential funding opportunities
- Proven ability to assist in developing compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's mission, programs, and impact
- Experience in assisting in managing relationships with grantors and ensuring ongoing communication
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and private grant funding sources
- Ability to assist in analyzing grant funding data and identifying trends to inform strategic decision-making

- using a reliable computer and internet connection

IMPORTANT: It's vital that the nonprofit has access to all tools, resources, artifacts, etc. used in this position and stored in the nonprofit's cloud. Therefore, agreed upon web-based tools in the nonprofit's name (open source, free, commercial, etc.) must be used to ensure reuse and sustainability.
