Empowered Community is a nonprofit organization that identifies and addresses unmet needs by evolving programs to fill gaps that would otherwise be ignored. We meet with students, young adults, families, employees, small businesses, and government agencies to learn what programs and services are needed. Then, we analyze job market trends to determine where people are being left behind and resolve that through education, economic empowerment and health & fitness programs.

Position Summary
The Grant Writing Manager secures grant funding to support our organization's mission of empowering individuals and communities through education, economic opportunities, and health and fitness programs. You will be responsible for identifying, researching, and applying for relevant grants, developing compelling proposals, and managing relationships with grantors.
Position Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research and identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and programs
- Develop and implement comprehensive grant writing strategies, including creating grant calendars and tracking deadlines
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and maximizing the chances of success
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and documentation for grant applications
- Manage relationships with grantors, responding to inquiries, providing updates, and maintaining positive communication
- Analyze grant funding data and identify trends to inform future grant writing strategies
- Prepare and present grant reports to the Board of Directors and senior management
- Stay updated on grant trends, funding priorities, and changes in funder requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Grant Writing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in grant writing and proposal development, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Proven track record of success in securing grant funding for non-profit organizations
Strong understanding of grant writing principles, funder requirements, and proposal evaluation criteria
- Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to tailor proposals to specific grantors
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, researching, and applying for a wide range of grants
- Proven ability to develop compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's mission, programs, and impact
- Experience in managing relationships with grantors and ensuring ongoing communication
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and private grant funding sources
- Ability to analyze grant funding data and identify trends to inform strategic decision-making

Must be:
- able to volunteer at least 8 hours per week
- passionate about our mission, values, and empowering others
- using a reliable computer and internet connection
IMPORTANT: It's vital that the nonprofit has access to all tools, resources, artifacts, etc. used in this position and stored in the nonprofit's cloud. Therefore, agreed upon web-based tools in the nonprofit's name (open source, free, commercial, etc.) must be used to ensure reuse and sustainability.
