Position Summary

The Individual Giving Relationship Manager cultivating and nurtures relationships with individual donors, fostering meaningful connections, and securing vital funding to support our mission of empowering individuals and communities through education, economic opportunities, and health and fitness programs.

Position Responsibilities

- Identify, prospect, and qualify potential individual donors aligned with our mission and values
- Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, understanding their motivations and philanthropic interests
- Develop and implement strategies to solicit and secure individual gifts, including major gifts
- Represent our nonprofit at donor events, meetings, and networking opportunities
- Conduct research and analysis to stay informed about individual donor trends, fundraising opportunities, and wealth indicators
- Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to prospective individual donors
- Cultivate and steward relationships with existing individual donors, ensuring ongoing engagement and appreciation
- Track and report on individual giving activities and progress towards fundraising goals
- Collaborate with the Development team to integrate individual giving strategies into the overall fundraising plan

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Philanthropy, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in individual donor fundraising, relationship management, or nonprofit development
- Proven track record of success in securing individual gifts and building meaningful relationships with donors
- Excellent understanding of individual donor motivations, philanthropic trends, and nonprofit fundraising techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals
- Proficient in Google Drive tools (similar to Microsoft Office Suite) and donor relationship management (CRM) software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience Expected
- Demonstrated experience in individual donor relationship building and fundraising
- Experience in developing and implementing individual giving strategies
- Proven ability to identify, prospect, and qualify potential individual donors
- Experience in preparing and presenting compelling proposals and presentations to individual donors
- Understanding of individual donor giving trends, wealth indicators, and donor research techniques

Important Notes

Reports to the Finance Director
Must be:
- able to volunteer at least 8 hours per week
- passionate about our mission, values, and empowering others
- using a reliable computer and internet connection

IMPORTANT: It's vital that the nonprofit has access to all tools, resources, artifacts, etc. used in this position and stored in the nonprofit's cloud. Therefore, agreed upon web-based tools in the nonprofit's name (open source, free, commercial, etc.) must be used to ensure reuse and sustainability.
