Empowered Community is a nonprofit organization that identifies and addresses unmet needs by evolving programs to fill gaps that would otherwise be ignored. We meet with students, young adults, families, employees, small businesses, and government agencies to learn what programs and services are needed. Then, we analyze job market trends to determine where people are being left behind and resolve that through education, economic empowerment and health & fitness programs.

Position Summary
The Co-op/Intern Manager is responsible to oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and management of our co-op and intern programs. This position plays a critical role in developing a strong pipeline of talent for our organization and ensuring that our co-op and intern experiences are valuable and enriching.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive co-op and intern program strategy
- Recruit and select top-tier co-op and intern candidates
- Work with department managers to identify areas needing assistance and match co-op and intern talent for those positions
- Onboard and orient new co-ops and interns
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to co-ops and interns
- Oversee the performance evaluation process for co-ops and interns
- Manage relationships with co-op and intern advisors
- Promote the co-op and intern program to potential applicants
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in managing co-op and intern programs
- Strong understanding of co-op and intern program regulations and best practices
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with students, and all levels of volunteers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with college students or entry level staff
- Experience in developing and implementing training programs
- Experience in performance management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Experience using online Google Drive tools (sheets, docs, slides, forms, etc.)
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) a plus

Must be:
- able to volunteer at least 8 hours per week
- passionate about our mission, values, and empowering others
IMPORTANT: It's vital that the nonprofit has access to all tools, resources, artifacts, etc. used in this position and stored in the nonprofit's cloud. Therefore, agreed upon web-based tools in the nonprofit's name (open source, free, commercial, etc.) must be used to ensure reuse and sustainability.
