Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for the overall management and development of our human resources department. The key responsibility involves recruitment and selection process for our volunteer positions. Equally as important is for the HRM to onboard and ensure the new hires have the necessary detailed understanding of our mission, culture, their position and remote collaboration tools to perform well. The HRM will develop and implement HR policies and procedures, oversee the recruitment and selection process, manage volunteer relations, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Position Responsibilities

- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process
- Manage all levels of volunteer relations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Provide HR support to our volunteer team consisting of directors, managers, and contributors
- Develop and implement training and development programs
- Conduct light performance reviews to evaluate that we have a good fit of people for positions and provide training where needed

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a human resources management role or similar
- Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures
- Experience in developing and implementing HR programs and initiatives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with a nonprofit organization
- Experience with remote work
- Experience using online Google Drive tools (sheets, docs, slides, forms, etc.)

Important Notes

Reports to the Administration Director
Must be:
- able to volunteer at least 8 hours per week
- passionate about our mission, values, and empowering others

IMPORTANT: It's vital that the nonprofit has access to all tools, resources, artifacts, etc. used in this position and stored in the nonprofit's cloud. Therefore, agreed upon web-based tools in the nonprofit's name (open source, free, commercial, etc.) must be used to ensure reuse and sustainability.
